TransSIGHT, in partnership with BART, designed, developed, implemented and now supports the BART MaaS mobile app available on both iOS and Android platforms and the completely redesigned BART.gov
Bay Area Rapid Transit last updated its digital channels around 2009. This included redesigning and implementing a new BART.gov website. Since then, the technologies and the channels have evolved dramatically.
TransSIGHT led a digital strategy initiative through which it performed a user need assessment and discovery and prepared a digital channel strategy, Connected Journey.
The main goal was to unify the user interface and to provide channels to engage and connect with patrons. Under this strategy, BART.gov (originally built using Drupal) has been re-implemented as a web-responsive website and iOS and Android native apps built and deployed website.
BART has rolled out its most significant parking payment modernization effort to date, offering daily fee parking payment through the official BART app at five stations: Antioch, West Oakland, Hayward, South San Francisco, and El Cerrito del Norte.
With the daily fee parking payment through the app, riders can park at the five stations and then pay on their phones to avoid waiting in line to pay for a stall.
The Official BART app leverages TransSIGHT’s Mobility as a Service platform, TransSIGHT Move with the add-on parking management module, TransSIGHT Stow.
