In July 2020, as part a member of a consortium of four organizations, TransSIGHT was awarded the Service Manager contract to provide overall operations management of the HOLO system. TransSIGHT is responsible for the management of the back-office service integrator, data warehouse, and reporting. In addition, TransSIGHT is providing AFC expertise and strategy consulting to the City & County of Honolulu as they progress and grow the HOLO program to include parking, bike-share, and para-transit.
TransSIGHT is providing Deputy Program Management, System Engineering, Data Analytics, and Change/Release Management oversight. The contract has a five-year initial term with an option to extend an additional five years.
Key Challenges
Migration and roll-out of new smart card, account-based fare payments from old paper-based bus tickets: HOLO is the first modern transit fare payment system in Hawaii. The transition from paper tickets and passes is more than technology. There are culture changes for the agencies and the public.
New metro rail launch expanding the HOLO system: Honolulu is building a new metro rail, the first rail in Hawaii. Phase 1 is scheduled to launch in early 2021. New ticket vending machines and fare gates will be installed. This is all new to the key stakeholders and the public. TransSIGHT is providing consultancy and services based on our experience and skills across AFC and mobility.
