As a part of the transportation service offerings our team anticipates future traffic operations constraints. We then complete several studies to identify the needs and suggest improvements that can be incorporated in the development/analysis for different traffic systems, then we provide alternatives for the most efficient roadway network which meets client needs.
We have previously provided professional engineering planning services to multiple customers, led road safety assessments of selected corridors/intersections, documented deficiencies, and provided potential corrective measures. We have designed an analysis program to evaluate freeway, interchange, and intersection operations under various existing and future analysis scenarios.
Our services included building SYNCHRO and VISSIM models for existing, no-build and future build scenarios, development of future traffic volumes, build alternatives development, stakeholder and public interaction and management, safety and crash analyses, study documentation and preliminary costing of proposed alternatives. We have developed performance metrics using a pivot point model based on the existing data from the GRTC.
The scope of the Traffic Safety Analysis includes six scenarios including existing conditions, two future no-build conditions, and three build conditions associated with a recommended preferred alternative. The existing analysis involves review of historic crash data, pattern analysis, and development of hot spot maps using GIS. The future no-build and build conditions will be evaluated with a composite predictive analysis methodology, which includes linear and non-linear regression analysis for the development of project-specific Safety Performance Functions using HSM methodology
